GIS Mapping of Nepal Economic Value Chains
From HTN
Objective: To map the value chains of high value products in Nepal’s economic corridors. By creating a visual representation of the value chain, we hope people involved in each sector can identify gaps in the existing market and areas with high potential for investment.
What are we mapping? The production areas, market hubs, trade flows, access to financial services and work of NGO/Government actors related to high value commodities. We have selected products, including cardamom, ginger, tea, pulses, coffee, and medicinal plants, identified by the International Trade Center to have both high-medium export potential and highmedium socio-economic impact. Additional products are being considered, but have not yet been finalized. The final contents of the map will be influenced by data availability and comments from concerned stakeholders.
